DR. MURPHY D. MOULTRY

Born in Brundidge, Alabama, Dr. Murphy D. Moultry migrated to Ohio at the tender age of 5. There he built a life from obtaining a football scholarship and becoming a decorated athlete to reciting his dissertation for his doctorate which proved the Ohio Foundation Program unconstitutional, Dr. Moultry strived to teach, train and educate in everything he did. Because We Are Black is nonetheless the same. In retirement he has gained new light in wanting to change the world, one word at a time. Because We Are Black is not just a book, it’s a movement.

This book combines the academic research that supports the analysis of divisiveness and systemic racism that has plagued minority populations in America. The author fuses the seminal work found in Isabel Wilkerson's "Caste" and the research on the spiraling stages of social relations developed by Graves and Beck with personal recollections, interviews and observations to give a penetrating account of American society's racial injustice. This book may prove disquieting and uncomfortable for the diminishing White majority but it is a necessary lesson in assuming the path toward racial justice and harmony.
